Depending on what you're actually seeing, I'm with him. Duplicate SCSI IDs or bad cable/termination can cause this sort of thing (if I'm guessing correctly what "this sort of thing" actually is). Yes, writing a useful problem report is more work than writing a useless one, but doing that is less work than it is for a stranger to guess what would have been in a useful one, given only a useless one.
