Is it possible to change the hostname on the service processor by editing the /etc/sysconfig/network file and rebooting the SP? Or is there another procedure I should use?

Re: How to change the 3PAR Service Processor Hostname
Hi
The service proccesor hostname is fixed and it is set at MOB
it is always SP(folowed by 3PAR serial number) where the serial number was 5 digits
it is SP000 (serial number).
this is a must by HP.
Regards

SolutionRealy?
All my 40 Service Processor have there Hostname in the Company Server Name Rule Style.
It is possible to change it with the GUI: SPMaint > 2. Network Configuration > 4.Change Public Network Interface Parameters

Re: How to change the 3PAR Service Processor Hostname
I tried changing the hostname via SPMaint > 2. Network Configuration > 4.Change Public Network Interface Parameters on a test array and it seemed to work just fine in limited testing. Thanks for your help!

Re: How to change the 3PAR Service Processor Hostname
Hi Dave,
SPID and SP Host name are different, SPID must be SP000+InServS/N, but SP Host name can be changed from SPOCC.

Re: How to change the 3PAR Service Processor Hostname
Thanks Gary, It's the hostname that I'm concerned about, I understand about the SPID.
