Port remains in Failover Pending

While planning for a firmware upgrade the checkupgrade command gives me the following error:

StoreServ cli% checkupgrade
Port 1:1:1 has failover state failover_pending.
Persistent port failovers are still active.

The system cannot proceed with an online upgrade due to the above errors.

Checking in the 3PAR Management Console and the port is indeed in a Failover Pending state. No unresolved alerts on the storage. I've already tried to reset the port and to set it offline and online again. No change on the Failover State.

Any ideas?

Have had the same issue.

First try:

controlport offline 1:1:1

controlport rst 1:1:1

But in my 3PAR it does not help. Than Support did a reboot of the nodes, this fixed it.

As written I've already tried to set the port offline and to reset it. Next idea was to reboot the node. So I will try this as soon as possible. I'll let you know if this helps.

Replying to an old thread but hope to bring some helpful advise. After swaping the SFP, the port remained in failed_over state. I wanted to have this solved without rebooting the node, did the following and it worked.

1) Bring the port offline (controlport offline x:x:x)
2) Reseat the SFP
3) Bring port online by resetting (controlport rst x:x:x:)
