HP Anywhere 10.10 launch is revolutionizing mobile app development

‎11-17-2013 08:45 PM - edited ‎09-07-2015 09:12 PM

The mobile industry is rapidly evolving, which is making it especially challenging for IT and business leaders who are responsible for enterprise mobility. The mobility landscape is consistently morphing as enterprises respond to pressures such as mobile app security, consumerization of IT and enabling BYOD.

At HP, we are experiencing the same enterprise mobility challenges that you are. We understand the difficulties associated with  HTML5 vs. native and how to deploy on multiple platforms. You can learn more in this recent InformationWeek article: “HTML5 Offers 'Road to Awesome’”.  We have learned our lessons and we are building HP Anywhere for the enterprise, and our focus is on features and capabilities that enterprises around the world need to succeed with their mobile strategy.

Today, we are excited to announce an enhanced version of HP Anywhere, version 10.10.

Here are the key capabilities we are delivering in HP Anywhere 10.10 to help enterprises deliver mobile apps for their employees:

Offline Support

Mobile users are sometimes online, sometimes offline—whether on an airplane or in an office, you are not always connected.  HP Anywhere 10.10 enables users to login and consume apps in “offline mode”. Now users can still access the apps and see the latest updates. Since the offline/online change is handled by the framework, with a provided set of APIs, app developers can easily add offline support for their apps.

Branding

HP Anywhere 10.10 enables customers to deliver custom-branded mobile app experiences to their employees. With this new functionality, enterprises will be able to add their own look and feel to the platform—including changing the logo and color scheme.

Login Separation

HP Anywhere 10.10 provides customers with more control and customization options for how a user logs in. This gives enterprises the ability to define and use their own specific login behavior, user interface and mechanism for user access. It doesn’t matter if it is  a simple user name and password or multi-factor authentication.

Localization

Mobile is global, and as a platform, we have extended support for multiple languages and localizations including English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, French, Italian and German.

I recently spoke with Mike Jennett, senior program manager for HP Enterprise Mobile Application Deployment, on the new HP Anywhere 10.10 capabilities and here is what he had to say:

“I am looking forward to rolling out HP Anywhere 10.10 because HP will be able to deliver more apps faster than before to our employees. As a global enterprise, mobility is a large focus for HP and we are rolling out over 25 custom apps built on HP Anywhere. Having a single development environment allows our teams to develop the applications once and deploy on multiple platforms, which reduces development time by approximately 70 percent per platform. ”

Hopefully you will also get to experience the new benefits that HP Anywhere 10.10 provides. Please feel free to connect with us regarding any questions you have about how we can help meet your mobile challenges head on.
