I have just returned from an exciting customer forum event in Turkey for the Apps12 and Service Virtualization (SV) 3.5 launch.

HP Turkey team held an organized and very well attended customer forum event in one of the iconic sights of Istanbul, the historic Ottoman Ciragan Palace on the Bosphorus Strait. HP Country Manager Deniz Yobas introduced the event, and HP Senior Vice President for Software, George Kadifa, opened the event with a message from Sunnyvale, California.  During this open he greeted the audience in Turkish—which brought cheers and smiles all around. . He talked about his vision in this IT World which included Big Data, Mobile, Security and Cloud and HPs dedication to software and customer’s success. The customers were very happy to hear one of their own explain the tools the HP provides in their native language. They were also pleased that they have George Kadifa‘s support to make them successful with HP Apps12 and the SV 3.5 tools.

The main focus of the event was to share our thoughts in the new technology and trends in the IT World and HPs new App12 and SV 3.5 launch. We also wanted to share our continuous support and dedication to customers. I spoke as a seasoned HP/Mercury customer/person about Apps 12 and SV 3.5 and the new trends particularly Mobile Apps and testing. The audience had many questions for me surrounding the tools and how to make use of them and launch successful software.

There were attendees from finance, telcom and other industries along with government institutions. Clearly there was a major interest in Mobile Apps and Testing, as well as the Shunra acquisition and performance testing, UFT and Mobile.

A famous Turkish journalist who writes about the new trends in IT in Turkey made a very vivid presentation and talked about the changing IT world and added a lot of humor to the event. He also talked about ITOM and made it clear that he is there to support the customers.

While I was looking at the Bosphorus after the event I imagined life in old Istanbul where communication was on foot, important messages were sent by individuals on horseback and people needed to send special messages by ulak, (special people who delivered messages. I wonder if the people of  Istanbul could imagine the year 2014 where everything is computerized, where mobile phones are the center of our life, our business, and  in a nut shell—everything. As civilizations grow and change the way we live and do business also changes. HP will be there to follow the changes and serve our customers based on their needs.
