New with HP Service Virtualization 2.0

HP Service Virtualization 2.0 enables organizations working within distributed environments to significantly speed-up time to market and achieve cost savings by:

è Reducing complexity as well as business risks during the application lifecycle. With the growing adoption of cloud and mobile computing, IT departments are under pressure to test and deploy composite applications in shorter time cycles while ensuring availability and performance that meets service level agreements. In addition, composite applications often span across an organization and include services provided by external vendors, making their access for development and testing difficult.

Addressing these challenges, HP Service Virtualization provides development and testing teams with access to *unavailable or restricted services* in an always available virtualized environment, enabling them to test quality and performance of legacy, cloud or mobile applications without a need to access production business systems.

Enhanced support for service virtualization protocols

HP Service Virtualization 2.0 supports a broad set of communication protocols. Developers, functional and performance test engineers can quickly create or provision virtual integration and test environments for Software as a Service (SaaS), Cloud and Mobile applications using Representational State Transfer (REST) access protocol.

In addition, HP Service Virtualization 2.0 now supports the virtualization of IBM WebSphere MQ systems to enable rapid delivery of new applications without the need to access high cost production business systems. Now, users are able to continuously test applications depending on mainframe systems without a need to wait for their availability.

HP Service Virtualization 2.0 also adds support for Generic XML and Binary protocol virtualization. It allows creation of virtual testing environments without a necessity of understanding specific message structures and enables support for proprietary protocols. Generic XML allows virtualization of XML oriented protocols with access to non-specific XML messages structure. Generic binary virtualization allows simulation of any other protocol with access to text/binary representation of messages.

Another HP Service Virtualization 2.0 enhancement is support for protocols metadata. Users can now very easily add, modify and manage protocol headers or other transport dependent information that must be used in creation of virtual service models.

About the Event:  IT environments today support hundreds of applications with dependencies on hundreds or more distributed services. This complexity and the required integration of dependencies and application resources is placing a burden on development and QA teams who are responsible for testing and validating application performance. This session will provide capability overviews of both Service Virtualization and Network Virtualization, along with an integrated vision of how these work together, and a customer story detailing how the integrated technologies have been effectively leveraged to mitigate performance risks prior to deployment.
