Rules and Guidelines for Screen Names on the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Community

There are some platform rules on what a screen name may contain:

1) 2 to 15 characters

2) Letters a-z, A-Z in any combination

3) Numbers 0-9, hyphen ( - ) or underscore ( _ ) in combination with letters and numbers

4) No other characters, including special characters or HTML tags, are allowed by the platform

There are also some Community rules and guidelines:

1) This is a site for professionals and users of computational equipment. Please bear this in mind when creating your screen name. Screen names containing off-color words or phrases, threatening or disparaging comments about any person, place or thing will be changed or removed.

2) Your screen name is your online identity. While Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that you not release any personal information that you would not wish to see on a roadside billboard in your member profile, your screen name must make it possible for other members to identify you as a human. Though the platform may allow combinations of characters designed to make it difficult to determine if you are a person or a computer, the Administrative Team does not. While "AAAAAAAAAAA" would be allowed, "---------------" would not.

3) Above all, please use common sense. Remember that this is a community of users of HPE solutions, hardware, software, services, customer support programs and related professionals. Please be respectful; these are your peers.

You may notice in your conversations on the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Community that there are a few members whose screen names do not exactly match the platform requirements above. These names came from legacy platforms and support sites that were migrated into the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Community when it was being created. In order to keep the continuity of our longtime members identities, we made it possible to have these screen names work on the platform, though they could not be created as new names. These are the only exceptions to the platform rules.
