I have been watching this question since it was posted hoping for an answer to it as well. Perhaps there are others out there that know the answer that could be prodded gently for a response... I would also add to the question part 2, if it is installed via a telnet session does this void the warranty on the gizmo?

1: Is it possible to install mysql on the server? a: yes it is.
2: Does it void the warranty? a: Yes it does. When you telnet into the server there is a warning message that changes made through telnet are not supported and may void the warranty. There is absolutely no reason you couldn't get it installed and working as long as you're comfortable with the CLI.
