HP BSM purging query...urgent

Hi Folks,

We are going to apply purging in our BSM for 6 months. Just wanted to know answers to below queries,

1) Do we need to restart BSM services after we apply purging.

2)We have sitescope and BPM as data collectors. so what are the tables we need to check while applying purging.

Looking for help.

Regards,

Hanumant

1) Do we need to restart BSM services after we apply purging. No

2)We have sitescope and BPM as data collectors. so what are the tables we need to check while applying purging.

In Purging screen under admin-> platform->data partioning and purging there is seperate tables section which is presented both for sitescope and BPM

Re: HP BSM purging query...urgent

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Would like to know whether we can keep the same EPM values for both SiteScope and BPM or we need to calculate it from database tables as suggested by HP support.
And also do we need to select all tablels under sitescope and BPM..

Re: HP BSM purging query...urgent

The Partition and Purging Manager runs every hour to check if a new data partition needs to be created and to purge data older than the retention time defined per table.

The size of each profile database partition is determined by the EPM (events per minute)
The default EPM values are preset according to the appropriate level of the specified database table. Optionally, you may want to adjust the EPM value, if necessary:

•If data partitions are too large (accumulating much more than 1 million rows), raise the EPM value to create new partitions more frequently.
•If data partitions are too small (accumulating much less than 1 million rows), lower the EPM value to create new partitions less frequently
Cheers!
