SHR and SHO

[ Edited ]

What does SHO optimize? System resources? Workloads? network? storage?

Can you please explain?

Re: SHR and SHO

SHO optimizes the physical infrastructure (VM Hosts) based on CPU and Memory utilizations of VMs and its host. Storage and network based optimization is not supported yet.

Re: SHR and SHO

Is it only VM hosts or even physical hosts - ie workload/application consolidation in case of physical hosts?

Which virtualization technologies does SHO support?

Re: SHR and SHO

SHO mainly supports virtual infrastructure management.

SHO treats physical host as a workload and optimizes. In the resulting placement suggestion given by SHO, physical hosts are shown as virtual machines. i.e. SHO suggests physical hosts to be recreated as virtual machines.

SHO supports VMware and HyperV virtualization technologies.

Re: SHR and SHO

In a VMWare environment, can SHO collect data from multiple VCs and optimize?

Re: SHR and SHO

SHO uses SHR as its data provider. SHR collects data from multiple VCs.

So SHO can work on data from multiple VCs.
