Sitescope log file monitor question

Hi All,

Hope to find your help on the below,

We need to implement log file monitor,

the log file is in folder,

and this file is generated periodically started with same name & numbers ...

Example:    deepo_0101_987654.log , deepo_0108_87653.log  And so on

these numbers are random.

how to implement regex for this file to monitor every new file ?

Thanks.

Re: Sitescope log file monitor question

SiteScope doesn't provide capabilities to build a regex for file names containing arbitrary numbers.

Re: Sitescope log file monitor question

Thanks alot for your help,

I understood this,

One more question, what if I tried to monitor [ fileName_$PID.log  ] ?

as per this link [ http://sitescope.tellurian.net/SiteScope/docs/regexp.htm ] we can monitor date variable names.

can we do the same with PID ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Sitescope log file monitor question

Yes, you can use special date and time variables as part of regex for file names. However, PID is nothing but a set of arbitrary figures, so the answer would be the same - SiteScope doesn't allow you to build a regex for such file names.

Re: Sitescope log file monitor question

ok, for dates,

if the file name contains variable date, sitescope support regex for [ year, month, day, hour, minute, milleseconds ].

Aren't there regex for seconds ?

Thanks

Re: Sitescope log file monitor question

Hi,

No, only month, day, year system variables are supported. As workaround you may try the multilog monitor which does support regex for filename.
