VMware vVols and HP 3PAR StoreServ at VMworld

On Monday at VMware, HP had a session diving into VMware vVols.  The session was presented by Ivan Iannaccone from our 3PAR product management team as well as Patrick Dirks from VMware who manages the vVols team.  This is audio from that session.

I did a blog post with a demo on vVols nearly 2 years ago and while vVols isn't generally available, it is certainly getting closer.  What VMware did announce is that vVols would be in vSphere 6.0 but the timing of that has not been publicly disclosed.

Here's the session audio and I've also uploaded a PDF of the slides from the session that you can use as a reference when listening to this.

If you rather download this as a podcast, right click here and save the MP3 file. You can also subscribe to my podcast on iTunes - go to the iTunes store and search for "Around the Storage Block" or you can open this link and click on the "View in iTunes" button under my picture.

I'll also include the demo in this post to make it easy for you to watch. Probably best to play this on YouTube, change the setting to HD and watch it full screen.

Check out the HP 3PAR StoreServ product page where you can find white papers and  free assessments.
