Information Governance: Addressing Complexity for “Serial Targets of Litigation

JoeGarber on ‎07-31-2013 10:20 AM

A new version of the Autonomy Legal Hold (ALH) product has just been launched.  ALH 3.8 is a key component of HP Autonomy’s Information Governance portfolio and represents a significant step forward in our ability to help organizations manage the risk and cost associated with preserving data in response to eDiscovery or investigations.

ALH already manages all processes related to initiating a hold, sending notices, conducting interviews, collecting and preserving data, and releasing or disposing data at the end of a case.  This new release adds additional functionality that will be especially valued by organizations that are regularly targeted for eDiscovery and investigations.  These “serial targets of litigation” often must respond to hold requests that are broad reaching – covering many types of data located in many places.  Adding to the complexity, these organizations must manage multiple holds on data at the same time.

ALH 3.8 removes this complexity, ultimately requiring less customer oversight and minimizing risk.  Specifically, it allows organizations to more effectively and easily apply legal holds to data residing on desktops without creating significant user disruption.  It also allows organizations to customize workflows at a more granular level than before and audit results to ensure consistency and workflow effectiveness.  And importantly, ALH can now be integrated with matter management systems such as TeamConnect and Elite, allowing customers with these systems to better control holds on data that may be associated with multiple legal matters.

As a leader in the eDiscovery market, HP Autonomy has proven itself to many of the largest and most demanding companies in the world.  The further development of ALH over a significant period of time, in conjunction with key ‘power users,’ further reinforces that HP Autonomy remains committed to not just staying in line with the market but instead extending our lead over our competitors.
