Information Governance: “The Data Dilemma”

LuisRomero ‎09-19-2013 08:39 AM - edited ‎09-19-2013 09:20 AM

Last week, we kicked off the first session of a four-part Information Governance Twitter Chat Series which focused on the “The Data Dilemma” that organizations face every day.  In this open forum, we discussed the information governance challenges that arise from expanding data volumes and new diverse data types, including social media.  As data volumes explode and social media is further absorbed within organizations, there are even more questions around legal/compliance implications, and determining who is actually responsible for governing this growing data.

Read through this insightful and thought-provoking chat that raises the question, “ Does your organization have a data dilemma?”.

Join us September 25 at 2:00pm EST for the second session of the Twitter Chat Series, titled "Policies and Procedures," in an open forum discussing the following topics:

  • How do you determine data value? What procedures, if any, are in place for classifying data based on value?
  • What factors dictate your retention policies? How often are those policies reviewed?
  • How do you enforce data governance policies? Do you have an early warning system in place to detect issues or misconduct?
  • What  was your data remediation process to bring all necessary data under control of your governance policies?
