Data Storage

I'm not at all technical and acknowledge it freely. I have questions from my customers asking about storage of backup tapes and they keep mentioning "mediavault" I always thought that this was a 3rd party vendor but am now thinking it is a shared data software? Can anyone tell me what this is? Are my customers storing data in their own buildings or are they actually sending tapes to some company with that name, is there anyway to tell the difference?

Here's HP StorageWorks Media Vault Pro:

There is also an offsite part from Spare Backup, Inc.

This may seem like a radical idea, but why
not ask your customers what _they_ mean? A
Web search for, say,
media vault
finds many different things.

Re: Data Storage

I have and they state it's "where we send our tapes"...I asked is it a company? "I don't know it's where we send our tapes."
