Help! Can't connect to the Internet and get an unidentified network :(
My computer had crashed last week due to a bad ram-got it replaced but now my computer won't connect to the Internet. It recognizes the network but it tries connecting to an unidentified network. I don't have a bad wireless connection and our 2nd computer is working fine. Please, please, please somebody help-I'm up to my wit's end and I feel like I've tried all the options I can think of.

What type of computer do you have? What type of network security do you have?
What windows version?

Re: Help! Can't connect to the Internet and get an unidentified network :(
Has the icon of the wireless connection (next to the clock) a yellow exclamation mark ?
Do you use a HP access point ? These access points don't have an DHCP server included so you may need to give the wireless adapter a static ip.
Just open the command prompt of the 2nd pc (start -> run -> cmd) and type in "ip config /all".
There you can see if the ip address is configured static or via dhcp. If you are not sure just paste the entries here.

Re: Help! Can't connect to the Internet and get an unidentified network :(
try verifying the exact wireless settings of your access point and try connecting again and if possible try changing the channel and type of security encryption of your network
