2916 SFP Connection
I need some help setting up my SFP connection on my
Baseline 2916 SFP Plus.
All cables are tested and working. But as soon as I
connect the cable to the SFP port, no joy.
Has anybody any idea??
Regards,
Chris

Re: 2916 SFP Connection
Allready done that! Looking at the sheet the 3CSFP91 is
compatible with the 3com Baseline 2916 SFP plus. Also
checked the fiber and that's working. The SFP ports are
green so the SFP modules are accepted.

Chris

Re: 2916 SFP Connection
Also, on some other managed switches, you must to undo shutdown the ports.
As for fiber links, you've got to match the tx/rx and to watch for the proper optical cord(modal type and polishment).
Is the equipment on the other end using the same transceiver?

Re: 2916 SFP Connection
Thks for all the solutions so far.
The problem at the moment is that I won't be in office
for some time to test all the solutions. As soon as I
am back, or my college, we're going to try them out.
To give some answers to your questions or statements.
The 2916 doesn't have a big CLI. There are no
configurations possible on the ports in the CLI. So I
can't actived or deactived any ports.
The GBIC in the switch are LC and on the other end it
is VF45.
AS soon as there is any or no progress in the matter I
will let you know.
Best regards,
Chris
