ISSU upgrade from R2207 to R2308P01
Hi Gurus,
I tried to upgrade 5920AF Switches using ISSU command but it fails completely. Here is the procedure I applied:
- Copy R2207H01 Patch on slot1 & slot2.
- Install the Patch on both switches (using install activate patch & commit)
- Check patch is correctly installed (using display install active)
- Check ISSU state (display issu state)
- Check compatibiliy matrix (issu comp-matrix file ...)
- Upgrade slave switch using ISSU command (issu load file ...)
After this step, slave switch never join back the IRF stack.
Should I upgrade through an intermediate firmware to have no service interuption ?
Thanks

Re: ISSU upgrade from R2207 to R2308P01
We did this a while back. On a 2 chassis system the command set we used was:
issu load file ipe flash:/5900_5920-CMW710-R2208P01.ipe slot 2
display boot-loader
issu run switchover slot 2
issu accept
issu commit slot 1

Re: ISSU upgrade from R2207 to R2308P01
Hi,
From I can see, it looks like upgrade to R22xx release is compatible while, trying to upgrade to R23xx release isn't and require service interruption.
Thanks for your input.

Re: ISSU upgrade from R2207 to R2308P01
Hi Jyce
Yes, that's true. Unfortunately ISSU Compatible from 2207 to 2308 is not supported. See the release notes.
