LACP or Trunk multilink 5406ZL to a5120

Hi all

Here is what I am trying to do:

My Core switch is a HP Procurve 5406ZL with a 24 port fiber gbic blade fully polulated

The IDF switches are A5120-48g El configured in stacks of 2, 3 or 4 via the 10gb irf ports.

What I am trying to do is take 2 fiber links off the front of the 5120 and trunk them up to the 5406 so that I can get 2gb of throughput out to the idf's.  

On the 5406 I have tried setting up the 2 fiber ports for trunk or LACP with no luck.

On the 5120 I am confused as to which lacp I schould be using and where the ports should be tagged to communicate on the vlan.  

If anyone has an example or sugestion on how to get these 2 switches to talk to each other I would be most appreciative.

With a bit of trial and error on the 5406 side and the a5120 I was able to figure it out.

Here is the config that worked.

On the 5406zl 

Set the ports to Trunk 41 LACP

Set the Vlan tagging on the trunk 41 port to reflect the vlans that need to be present.

On the A5120

interface bridge-aggregation 1

link-aggregation mode dynamic

quit

interface GigabitEthernet 1/0/50

port link-aggregation group 1

quit

interface GigabitEthernet 1/0/52

port link-aggregation group 1

quit

interface bridge-aggregation 1

port link-type trunk

port trunk permit vlan all
