Simplified network and storage server connectivity: Introducing New Network Adapters

We continue to see Enterprise and data center environments grow exponentially.  To support the increased demand for greater compute and network scalability, users are leveraging the industry’s latest server architectures such as HP’s Gen8 ProLiant family as well as scalable technologies, such as server virtualization.  This in turn is putting increased pressure on server I/O.  In response, HP is introducing new Network Adapters that offers the industry’s highest performing Ethernet only and Ethernet, FCoE and iSCSI connectivity.  These new adapters not only align the network performance with the Gen8 high-performance CPUs, but actually offload the CPUs from protocol processing, freeing up server processing cycles for applications requiring greater processing headroom.


The resulting data demand of todays and tomorrow’s data center has exceeded traditional 1Gb/s throughput capabilities and server I/O requirements.  With the introduction of our  new 10Gb adapters we will be able to help customers overcome these protocol and bandwidth limitations.

The HP 526FLR-SFP+ addresses the demanding needs of the next-generation data center by combining concurrent functionality of a NIC (Ethernet), iSCSI, and Fibre Channel over Ethernet onto a single converged network adapter reducing the number of adapters and cables and reducing  acquisition and operational costs


Customers will also now be able to use a single CNA to connect servers to storage and networks and reduce costs by requiring fewer adapters, cabling and ports.  Administrators now have only one connection to manage reducing management and deployment complexity.

  •          Ability to set Quality of Service (QoS) for each protocol (NIC, iSCSI and FCoE) and deploy different protocols enabled per port

The HP Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 561T/FLR-T Adapters are dual-port 10GBASE-T adapters, featuring the Intel X540 Controller 10 Gb Ethernet solution from Intel in Stand-up and FlexibleLOM form factor (respectively); designed for HP ProLiant Gen8 DL rack, ML tower and scalable servers, delivering full line-rate performance across all ports with low power consumption and utilizing CAT 6A UTP cabling with distances up to 100 meters that will reduce data center cabling costs.


The HP 561T/FLR-T adapters enable connections with standard CAT6 cabling or better. The HP 561T/FLR-T support high performance networking features such as VLAN tagging, Low latency interrupts, TCP and UDP checksum offloading, MSI-X, NIC teaming (bonding), Receive Side Scaling (RSS), Wake-On-LAN (WOL), jumbo frames, PXE boot. These adapters support  virtualization features including  VMDq and SR-IOV.

Intilop has several groups who can take on projects that range from a small 100k Gate FPGA design/integration to 10 M gate SOC Design/integration/Verification project or a small 2 inch X 2 inch board for an embedded design application to 22 inch X 26 inch, 24 layer multi-Giga bit blade server Board with multiple 1000+ pin BGA devices.
