Upgrade Dataprotector version from v6 to v7

[ Edited ]

I read "Installation and Licensing Guide" document, and i see that there is a limitation when we want to upgrade dataprotector version from v6 to v7.

 PFB,.

Spoiler
"If you are upgrading to Data Protector 7.00 on Windows, HP-UX, and Linux systems, the enhanced
incremental backup database cannot be migrated to the new version. The old enhanced incremental
backup repository is deleted from the Data_Protector_home\enhincrdb\mount_point
directory. During the first full backup after the client upgrade, a new repository is created at the
same location. Notice, that the first backup after the upgrade should be full."

Please help to explain, what the meaning of incremental backup database cannot be migrated to the new version?

Re: Upgrade Dataprotector version from v6 to v7

Hi,

You have taken backups in DP6.x as Full,Incr, incr and upgrade to DP7.x.

After this upgrade, you cannot continue with only ioncr, incr for the existing backups. But the first Backup after upgrade should be a FUll backup, other than INCR.
