Moving tape library to another server

Hello. We have an HP 1/8 G2 SAS Autoloader with 8 tapes. Soon we're to reconnect it to another media server. How it will be best to save all our backups and continue using it after reconnecting it to another server with another domain name? Cartridges have no bar codes. Will it be enough to perform tape scan? After scan will Data Protector recognize this tapes as his, with backups?

thanks

Re: Moving tape library to another server

As long as the new media server is in the same cell, the only thing that you have to do is to change the library and drive configurations to reflect the new hostname, and the new SCSI addresses of the drives. You may want to do a physical scan of the 8 media just to update the Internal Database

Since you are not doing anything with the IDB, ownership of all the backups and devices will remain the same as it is now
