lost connection to VBDA name ... on host xxx.

1hi

i have some add client server for backup in data files.

all client server is ok  Except for one server displays the following message.

st connection to VBDA name ... on host xxx.

ipc subsystem report "IPC read Error" system error(10053)software connection abort.

In response to the request that all communication network settings and everything there was to test.and was ok.

i am sure the hp data protector server access to this server data files .Because it was found in the list of files cell server.

Works:

1.reinstall agent on server.(delet and  new add)

2.change omnric config ((According to the experience of others.))

3.check time,ping,,...

4.restart dp server and the serevr.

It should be noted this problem after migration dp server in 2003 x32 to 2008 x64 every thins is ok  Except this problem.

what it is my problem?

tnx

This usually fixes the problem:

OB2INETTIMEOUT=10

I'm sure that when Eblyn made this comment

"Did you try with this variable on omnir?"

he was actually referring to the 'omnirc' file on the server giving you the error. Since you didn't supply sufficient information about this server, I can't be more specific

my omnirc file with change txt file

Re: lost connection to VBDA name ... on host abc.

Amir, the 'omnirc' file does not exist by default. It has to be created on Windows by opening a blank Notepad, adding the environment variables that you want, saving the file as

Program Data -> Omniback -> omnirc

makintg sure that the filename has NO extension, like 'txt' or 'tmpl'.  The Data Protector INET service must be stopped and re-started in order for the change to take effect

You can also make a copy of 'omnirc.tmpl', and save it as 'omnirc' with no extension, but, in my opinion, this file would be very hard to reead if you wanted to make a change. It is probably personal preference that I keep my 'omnirc' file to contain only the environment variables I want to be using
