32-bit Oracle, where to find?

Dear All,

I have a D380 at home for hobby. I want to install Oracle on it. To have a look at Compiere.
All downloads I can find at Oracle are 64-bits.

Any one know where to find a 32-bit version?

Regards
Lars

[You posted this question to the HP-UX ITRC Forum]

What OS are you running on the D380? Not HPUX no?

Look for the Oracle downloads under the right OS (Linux? Windoze?) to find the appropriate, 32 bit, download.

fwiw,
Hein.

Re: 32-bit Oracle, where to find?

The later Oracle versions for HP-UX are 64-bit. The good news is that your D380 can run either 32-bit or 64-bit HP-UX 11.x although if you have EISA cards in your D-box, they will only work under 32-bit 11.x.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: 32-bit Oracle, where to find?

Hi Lars,

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Oracle versions less than or equal to 8.x are 32-bit. Anything newer is 64-bit.
So you have to find one of them.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Rgds,
Jeff

Re: 32-bit Oracle, where to find?

I am running HP-UX 11.11 32-bit on the D380.
To run 64-bit HP-UX I need to upgrade firmware. Since It's a hobbymachine and I don't have any serviceagreement can't I contact HP for help.

Re: 32-bit Oracle, where to find?

Actually, there were 64-bit versions of 7.3.4 and 8.X for HP-UX also. Not sure where you'd be able to get hold of the older 32-bit versions though. Oracle offers free development license downloads of the 9iR2 and 10g versions from their web site. Could always contact them (though that will likely be fruitless since those versions are no longer supported) or check on Ebay to see if you can find some media on there.

Oops, my bad... brainfart...
I somehow though you were writing about a DL380, a 32-bit intel server.

Sorry,
Hein.

Re: 32-bit Oracle, where to find?

You don't have to have a maintenance agreement to download PF_CULU4211. The instructions are included and if you follow them, you will have no problems. I've upgraded firmware tens of times and I've never had a problem. The most important aspect is that when you create your firmware upgrade bootable tape that you specify a 2k blocksize.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

My tapedeck doesn't work :(

I use CIFS to make backups to windows.

Then you have a personal problem but these drives are dirt-cheap:
