Failed to open diskgroup in RAC 10G

Hi,

Danamon has just updated Oracle RAC patches.
Vgshare mount properly after start all package MC Service Guard 11.18, but when startup database oaccured error :

ORA-00202: control file: '+FCRDG1(CONTROLFILE)/fcrprd/control01.ctl'
ORA-17503: ksfdopn:2 Failed to open file +FCRDG1(CONTROLFILE)/fcrprd/control01.c
tl
ORA-15001: diskgroup "FCRDG1" does not exist or is not mounted
ORA-15077: could not locate ASM instance serving a required diskgroup
ORA-205 signalled during: ALTER DATABASE MOUNT...


Please help us to solve the error

Do you use RAW files in sharing mode? or CFS?

Hi,

We are use Raw Device in sharing mode.

Another info:

Database is oracle 10.2.0.2
Server RX8640 HPUX 11.23
Vgshare ---> vgdata1, vgdata2,vgdata3, vgdata4,vgarch1 and vgs1.

Now please check your raw space you created of .ctl and your pfile parameter is as like as your raw space.

OR please check you have properly up your vgs FCRDG1

because sometimes the vgs are not automatically up after booting

try to check if u'r all vg's are online.

you should check owner of /dev/vg??/r* ( your rac vgs ) , are they owned by oracle user ?

Ahsan,

Can you tell me how to check raw space of .ctl and pfile parameter ?

vgs1 has already up by using vgdisplay -v vgs1.

Either you can use sam to view the LV's(raw space)
or go to the /dev/ and "ll" there with the .ctl name

Hey did u check the permission of the raw vg's?

check the disk group status (from sql prompt)?
did the asm instance come up?ASM instance needs to be up to handle the other ASM instances.

Thanks for input...

Rac Team Danamon has already found the problem from vgs1.
Vgdata1, vgdata2, vgdata3, vgdata4 and vgarch replicate via Continous Access, so
vgs1 need to customize to control mount after suspend replication.

Also in CA the split is Read only by default. To make RW that has to be specified with split .
