P2000 MSA iSCSI & Server 2012
I've a new P2000 i'm configuring with Server 2012, I'm using it in a simple two node cluster and had validated the setup previously on Server2008R2 without issue.
Since moving to Server 2012 however when I try to runthe cluster validation wizard it fails;
validate storage spaces persistent reservation
This never failed previously and suspect it's something new to 2012, question is can I safely ignore it as I've no intention to use Storage Spaces (which I believe this separate test is aimed at).
I've set the MSA to use the native MPIO system and 'claimed' the paths using the mpclaim command. I have verified the paths are active and failover.
Thankyou

Re: P2000 MSA iSCSI & Server 2012
What driver are you using for your storage in Server 2012? I assume thats what the problem is as I'm getting the generic Microsoft 2006ish driver.

Re: P2000 MSA iSCSI & Server 2012
The lack of DSM for Server 2012 means you simply use native Windows MPIO ,after connecting the paths I claim them using the supplied mpclaim command with syntax as per HP.
I've checked in the device properties and it does state P2000 device etc so believe this at least is as it should be. It's not a hard error either so I do have the option to continue regardless, I'm not comfortable with this however as a basis for a production cluster - not without understanding the true state of the problem.

Re: P2000 MSA iSCSI & Server 2012
hi,
I have exactly the same problem, a solution in sight?
I bought a P2000 for nothing?
(hyper-v server 2012 with HP P2000 MSA ISCSI)
Thx

Re: P2000 MSA iSCSI & Server 2012
I am waiting for server 2012 drivers from HP. I find it odd that HP would not have drivers for operating systems it sells with servers.

Re: P2000 MSA iSCSI & Server 2012
I am experiencing the Same issue, however after doing some research I have found the VSS, VDS and Capi have been released by HP.
You can download these here
Additionally, I think the issue may be firmware Related on your SAN Array - TS250R021 was not supported for Windows 2012 from my understanding and HP recently Released TS250R023 which now correctly listed Windows 2012 Support. I am in process of installing this update right now. Will know shortly if this resolves the issue.
Additionally if you are using a BL460G8 I would ensure you have configured the iSCSI HBA built in and utilize this, it can be configured during boot up, and removes the Microsoft Software Based iSCSI from your system.
Will report back after I have updated the Firmware on the SAN Array.

Re: P2000 MSA iSCSI & Server 2012
HOWEVER!! I did find this little Gem from HP
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=4118559&prodTypeId=12169&objectID=c03743064
Basically the error can be safely ignored according to HP
Hope that helps everyone out here!
