have DL360p G8 and old MSA 60 SAS Disk enclosure
Hi,
We have DL360p G8 and old MSA 60 SAS Disk enclosure. Does DL360p support old MSA 60? I found External SAS controller for the DL 360p server. But it specification said the port speed is 6Gb/sec SAS. However, Old MSA 60 is 3Gb/sec SAS. Is this a problem?
---Server
ProLiant DL360p G8
---Storage
418408-B21 - HP StorageWorks MSA60 Array
(Host interface 3 Gb/sec SAS )
---External SAS/SAS Controller
HP® 1 Port SAS Controller (631667-B21)
(1 x SFF-8088 6GB/s SAS - mini-SAS external)
P.S. This thread has been moved from Storage>General to Disk Array. -HP Forum Moderator

Re: have DL360p G8 and old MSA 60 SAS Disk enclosure
You should use any disk enclosure with a HP smart array controller in general.
Since the MSA60 is only 3Gb/s, you better have a look at the new enclosure (D3700 e.g.) with a speed of 12 Gb/s.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Hi @ToshiNakano
I meant to reply to you but lost your conversation here. Here are a couple of things to look at that give more information:
- Here's the link to the ShortTake on YouTube from the D3000 product manager (a good overview)
- And a link to the product page for our disk enclosures: http://www.hp.com/go/D3000
I'll also send you a private message to see if there's something more I can help you with.
Best regards,
Calvin
