HVD vs LVD SCSI cables

Can some tell me how to find out whether I am using LVD of HVD SCSI Cables. We have Alpha GS60E's and Alpha ES40's connected to a HSZ70s with BA370 disk enclosures.

Re: HVD vs LVD SCSI cables

There is realy not a difference between HVD or LVD cables, they all have 68 pins connector and all cable connected. You may have a difference with some early low cost Single Ended cable that do not transfer all the lines having half of the pins put at a ground level.

Now a days all scsi cables are multimode. The only way to know if you had a specific cable is to check if there is a pn on the cable.
Also a logo may appear on the connector indicating the flavor

Hi,

you may find part no.s on the cable - just search with the same.

If you are keen to win, you should be willing to lose.

Re: HVD vs LVD SCSI cables

Hi,

There is no difference between LVD & HVD SCSI Cables.
But I can tell you that if you need to connect Alha Servers to HSZ70 with BA370 Disk Enclosures, then you need to use DIFF SCSI Adapters on you Alpha Servers (NOT SE Adapters) and SCSI Cables.

If you need more help, please let me know.
