Move vdisk to different disk group

Hello All,

Am I missing something? Is there no way to move a vdisk between disk groups? I have EVA 6400 I thought this functionality was coming out a while ago. I don't seem to find the method in Command view or the manual for that matter. I would like to do this online. I appreciate any advice.

a) Business copy on EVA

Snapclones can also be created in different
disk groups allowing users to copy the data to lower cost drives such as FATA.

b) LVM mirror on the host side

No that's not possible for now and think will not be implemented in future.The only online way to do it is by creating snapclones on a different desired diskgroup and then deleting the original vdisk.
The other option is to backup,delete vdisk create one on the other diskgroup and restore.

Hi Gerald,

In future release of CV that is 9.2 this functionality would be available. Not sure about the release notes but yes you will be able to move the LUN/vdisk from one disk group to another.
