"Array Accelerator Battery Charge Low": should I change it?
Hi,
we have an HP Server ProLiant DL380 G4: I find this problem:
"POST Error: 1794-Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Charge Low"
Should I change it? Am I sure that those battery is really used by the controller raid? Why find I this problem only in this server???
Thanks so much!!!

Why wouldn't you change it or at least have a new battery on hand? As soon as your battery goes out, the BBWC will fail and all will be write-thru.

Re: "Array Accelerator Battery Charge Low": should I change it?
Hi Dennis,
thanks for your reply.
So if the BBWC fails the server will go slowly, but I shouldn't have problems with the server, it will continue to work, right?
We're searching new batteries (or refurbished?).
Thanks!

Yes, that's my understanding. But I'm not sure if "slowly" will still mean "work" for your users. :-)

Re: "Array Accelerator Battery Charge Low": should I change it?
Hi, is this a 6400 Smart Array controller?
If so, there is a known issue with false battery failure reports on these when running older firmware.
Please update to the last released version which, off the top of my head, is ver 2.84
The battery / cache will be re-recognised by your OS afterwards and you'll need to let the battery charge.
If it still fails with this firmware, then you know for definate you need a new battery.
Thanks
Mark...

Re: "Array Accelerator Battery Charge Low": should I change it?
Hi,
the Smart Controller is 6i.
I read that if I'm using RAID1 I haven't problems with those battery, so I can ignore those message.
