Bios Limitation on Hard Disk Size
I have a Pavilion 8240 Running Win98 2nd, with Phoenix Bios Ver 4.06 dated 01/16/98. I am in the process of buying a 2nd hard drive a Seagate Barracuda ATA IV 60 Gb. Does anyone know if the system and/or bios will support this size drive ?

Re: Bios Limitation on Hard Disk Size
Hello,
Enter http://www.phoenix.com to check. If it is not, you have to upgrade the BIOS. Select BIOS upgrades. Select your product. You should be able to detect the harddisk then.
HTH,
Vince

Re: Bios Limitation on Hard Disk Size
Hi there.
If you cannot do it with the BIOS upgrade, try OnTrack DiskManager ( www.ontrack.com ).
