Gamification: Why you can’t afford to lose this game

A recent viewpoint paper stated, “Everything’s a game. Someone’s keeping score. Everyone is measured. Gamification is taking advantage of this – using behavior and measurement to enable businesses to meet goals.” The consumer industry is making high use of gamification. And now other industries from education to healthcare services are getting in on the game—many with the help of wearables or other devices. 


We brought this topic to the table on Twitter, to open discussion on how Gamification connects with—and benefits—businesses and employees. Our Twitter Chat on February 25, 2014 featured the following panelists:
