While we all hope for the best and go about our daily lives not worrying too much about ‘out of the blue’ catastrophic US v1 no link_lo - compressed.jpgevents, we only have to scan the media to find near-misses on a regular basis. These events should perhaps prompt us to rethink the question: How well prepared is my organisation to recover from a catastrophic event? If your IT is located in an office that experiences such an incident, you will need more than some High Availability storage architecture or single site clustering to get over it quickly. There is a well understood need across organizations today to have a rehearsed plan that provides for fast recovery of your critical business information onto a replacement platform which is located securely and far away from your impacted location without experiencing too much data/transactional loss. It is imperative that you ensure your internal and external customers are able to transact with you, without serious disruption and delay. Your organization needs to have a plan to ensure that you can recover from such an incident – some businesses don’t plan and often don’t survive the effects of this oversight!
