Can this article be made public (it requires a Passport login).  Seems odd that you have to buy the product to know what it supports?

Thanks in advance,

Hi RadhikaPerumal

My name is Ruddy and i'll be glad to help you on this question.

QTP and UFT support various features on Google Chrome browser versions, yet not all of them.

Notes: (*) Starting UFT 11.52 SP2 Patch 1 (UFT_00056), support for Chrome versions 17 and below is disabled.

1. There is no Recording feature.

Manually add the objects from Chrome browser directly to the Object Repository and manually create the script, step by step.

To create scripts using the recording feature, users can create the scripts onInternet Explorer via recording and then replay such on Chrome, modifying accordingly to displayed features of the respective browser (such as properties, dialogs, etc) using the Object Spy tool.

2. Accessing Native properties/methods of the web test objects with .Object approach is possible, with exception of Browser test object.

3. QuickTest Professional 10.00 and below/older. There is no support (nor future plans) on previous versions of QTP to automate Google Chrome as browser or web controls. Alternative methods such as Low-Level or Virtual Objects would be the only option on these versions.

4. Any other versions (higher or lower) not mentioned are not quality-assured (not supported), so web add-in may or may not work.

IMPORTANT: Opposed to Internet Explorer and Firefox there is no need to anounce every new version of chrome that we support it, we are continusly verifying Web Add-in's support for new Chrome browser versions and patches are released on a need basis."

Hope this will help.
