Remove the IP address data field from profiles

IP Address of Last Visit 166.249.96.79

Isn't this a violation of every corporate security guideline every written?

Hey Stephan:  This question should probably go to one of the forum administrators.

Michael - Stephan is correct, no one else can see your IP address when viewing your profile.

And adding to the whole confusion, even tho

  • Location
  • Email
  • Date Last Visited

are listed in the section Public Statistics, it depends on your privacy settings if they are shown to others in your profile...

Re: Remove the IP address data field from profiles

I agree, that section is poorly labeled and potentially misleading - I'll see what can be done about that.

Re: Remove the IP address data field from profiles

I see no violations here.

It is helpful to see the IP address of last visit. If I do not recognize, it might clue me in to my account being compromised.

Only one that can see it is forums admins and the user.

Seems safe to me.

Shalom all.
