Re: CentOS 6.3 unable to install in DL360e Gen8 Server

Hi Joseph,

Download the right driver.

If you are installing RHEL 6.1, download the file with rhel6u1 and so on.

Re: CentOS 6.3 unable to install in DL360e Gen8 Server

  1. Download RHEL 6.3 Software Driver Update and extract it.
  2. Copy hpvsa-1.2.4-4.rhel6u3.x86_64.dd to a USB Key formatted as FAT32.
  3. Once the floppy driver diskette ready on the USB Key and the Array is being created, is time to begin the CentOS 6.3 installation by booting from the DVD.
  4. On the main installation menu for CentOS, mount the USB Key with the driver on it. At the installation menu, select the installation method (just highlight it) and hit “ESC” key to receive the "boot:" prompt
  5. At that "boot" prompt enter the following command: linux dd blacklist=ahci
  6. Hit ENTER Select Yes for driver diskette, Select the USB drive.
  7. Select the driver disk image and select OK .
  8. Continue the OS installation, then just click select the logical volume where to install the CentOS 6.3.

Thanks

Re: CentOS 6.3 unable to install in DL360e Gen8 Server

Writing here cause have same problem but with CentOS 6.8 . Done everithing as said - load from DVD, than type: linux dd blacklist=ahci in boot promt, than hit "Yes" when asked about driver diskette. After that I'm choosing file extracted from

hpvsa-1.2.14-111.rhel6u8.x86_64.dd.gz

to the usb-stick. Download it from here: http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5249571&swItemId=MTX_c9c149709fc546d5b1397cd55f&swEnvOid=4103#tab3

cause don't find any CentOS drivers, only for Red Hat. After that system searching for new hardware and lost my dvd-drive :(. Next message is to choose image file from any source, and the only source avalible is my usb-stick. What I'm doing wrong ?

Re: CentOS 6.3 unable to install in DL360e Gen8 Server

OK, Folks I found the solution. It's important when you have 320i controller(not 120i) you don'n need to write blacklist=ahci, just only: "linux dd" in boot promt, than as usual select driver from usb, and mirracle - the dvd is working, driver is loaded and installation beguns.
