DL980 with RedHat v6.6 - moving FC HBA to different slot - impact on LUNs

Hi,

We have been advised to move our FC HBA in our DL980 G7 server with RedHat Linux 6.6 from slot 7 to 10. The server is in a RedHat Cluster using GFS2. When we move the HBA will the RedHat Lunix device name and path change, and we will need to reconfigure Linux?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Andrew

That is possible.  Are the LUNS mounted using device name or UUID? if UUID, then there shouldn't be any impact. You might check to see if there is a udev rule that matches the card by id to a device name.
