Error with lsof-4.64

Hello,

I just installed lsof-4.64 on HP-UX 11.0, but when I try to run it I get the following error:

lsof: can't read proc table info

Does anybody knows what it is happening?, I restartet the server because I changed the kernel but it did not work either.

Any help would be appreciated, I had tried to find information about this error on the Internet but it is not much or it refers to Solaris.

did you install the 32-bit or 64-bit version of lsof-4.64?

Hi,

I'm not sure if it is the 32-bit or 64-bit version, I download it from http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Sysadmin/lsof-4.64/lsof-4.64-ss-11.00.tar.gz
and I don't find it in the documentation. How could I see this?

I agree I think the error is down to the version of lsof vs O/S

Hi,

as far as i know the binaries at the porting centre are 32Bit if not otherwise statet.

You could also check with: file lsof. This should show 32 or 64 Bit version.

So you need to get the 64Bit Version for HP-UX 11.0. Take care, there are also 64Bit version for 11i around.

I ran into the same problem as the binary is 32 bits and my kernel is 64.

Hi,

Then I had to get the 64-bit version, so I checked the link provided by Alex but two of the successives links takes me to the file I already got and the last one is for HP 11.11.

The comand 'file lsof' shows the following, for the lsof I installed:

lsof: PA-RISC1.1 shared executable dynamically linked -not stripped

So does anybody knows where could I get the 64-bit version?

The 64bit version for 11.00 is ftp://vic.cc.purdue.edu/pub/tools/unix/lsof/binaries/hpux/B.11.00/vxfs/64/9000_800/lsof_4.64.gz

Start browsing at ftp://vic.cc.purdue.edu/pub/tools/unix/lsof/binaries/hpux/B.11.11 to see if there is a specific 1.11 64bit version too

Hi again,

search the forum. I remember that there has been a thread only two or three days ago. There was a 64Bit version of lsof attached as shar (shell archive) file attached.

The thread had something to do with which program is listening on an open port.
