HP-UX 11.0 release date

How can I find out, without looking at the actual CD-ROM used during the
installation, which HP-UX 11.00 I have installed: December 1998 or May 1999
releases?

There isn't a difference between the different releases of the same version
numbered Core OS, regardless of the date. The difference is in the patches that
are included on the CD that are installed along with the OS.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to tell which CD was used to do the
install, since patches could be applied after the initial install.

Daniel is correct. However, in the event no other patch bundle has been
installed, you could try:

# swlist -l bundle

Look for a line that reads something similar to:
XSWGR1100 B.11.00.45 HP-UX Extension Pack, May 1999
