Not able to login thro modem

Dear gurus,

I configured the modem in rp74** server. I could able to login as other than user having uid 0 including root. It is not at all accepting the passwd.

After login in to some other user, if I try to login as su - root, also I am getting error that not in SU_Root group, check /etc/default/security file.

I need to login as root . Please help me

This particular user is not a member of a specific group as defined by the SU_ROOT_GROUP.

In the /etc/default/security file there can be a setup that defines SU_ROOT_GROUP=

When you login as that particular user, is that user a part of the group that you see in the SU_ROOT_GROUP?

If not, you can add that user to the respective group in the /etc.group file.
