Text to PDF Utility convertor executable

Hi,

I am looking for a text to PDF convertor utlity executable for OpenVMS Integrity v8.3-1H1. Does anyone know where I can find this? All the examples provide the source code. I do not have a 'C' compiler.

txt2pdf may be the solution for your needs.

txt2pdf is supported on any system that runs PERL, including the OpenVMS platform ( Alpha and Integrity ).

Maybe you can use HTMLDOC, it is on Freeware V7.

It is HTML to PDF but text is just some simplified version of HTML...

If Freeware V7 does not contain an I64 executable, I can provide you with one. when you need it, tell me (how do we exchange email addressen on this forum without disclosing them to everyone?).

I've attached a zip file containing both text2pdf.c and text2pdf.exe, the latter being a build of the former performed with HP C V7.3-018 on OpenVMS IA64 V8.3-1H1.  Be sure to unzip on an OpenVMS system.  This is Phil Smith's text2pdf utility and as far as I know comes with no warranty or support of any kind (certainly not from me). However, it seems to work fine for the limited use cases it's meant to handle.

The way we do it is that we put the text documents in a directory that is shared using Samba.  We then run the Windows version of txt2pdf to convert them to pdf (and insert any required logos/watermarks, etc).

We considered the OpenVMS txt2pdf but from what I remember it didn't have all of the image embedding facilities that the Windows edition has.
