I may have misunderstood some comments I read a while ago concerning 11.23 vs 11.31, IE: that TCB was no longer a part of 11.31.

I've recently seen several 11.31 systems and they still make use of the TCB files.

So the question is: Is TCB still viable and will it remain so for and beyond 11.31?

Also, doesn't auditing for passwords require the Trusted Computing Base or is there a mechanism/switch for working via use of the SHADOW file?

The TCB is deprecated at 11.31 and at some later release will not be supported:
