Video Games for HPUX 11.11

Hi. We were wondering if they make video games from the HPUX 11.11 OS. Can anyone shed some light on this?

My favorites are Fluent, Ansys, and Pro/E but they are a little pricey. You might find these a little more affordable:

I'm planning to compile Quake, at least ascii Quake, as I've done with my Linux from Scratch box.

11.0 binaries will work under 11.11; the converse (mostly) is not true. Make sure you get all the dependencies. You also have the option of downloading the source and building them yourself.

In the future, when HP enhances it, just run virtual machines with Linux and harness the power of your big HPUX box to run pretty much any video game that runs on Linux.

A lot of people forget you can compile code on HP-UX.

Many of your open source Linux games will compile easily on a gcc compiler with HP-UX.

You can also make a lot of the Porting Center code work on 11.00 by compiling it on 11.00.

Hey Chad,

There are a couple that come in the HP-UX distro. One of them is a network game where you "drive" around in little cars bouncing a ball around the playing field trying to get it to the other end. The opposing team is trying to do the same. You can blast other players, and you can also play against the computer (he's pretty stupid).

I don't remember the name of it (my machine is down right now), but you should be able to find it in the /opt area, I believe. It is a pretty fun little game.
