There is PA-RISC for 9000s and Itanium for Integrity servers.

Re: Which Processor Technology HP used ?

Shalom,

HP for many years ending in 2008 sold PA-RISC processors which were developed by HP, probably based on other technologies.

HP formed an alliance with Intel to develop the 64 bit Itanium processor, which is quite powerful, but not compatible with other Intel lines. It probably shares some technology, but is unique and the basis of the line of systems that will run Windows, Linux or HP-UX.

Re: Which Processor Technology HP used ?

HP's current processor of choice is Intel's IA64 family of processors, also known as Itanium. There are several different build lines being used like Merced, Montecito etc.

Hi,

here you find the processor names.
There will be no pa-risc next generation (at the moment? One still can dream ;-) ).

Re: Which Processor Technology HP used ?

When you say "Nelum" do you mean "Nehalem?" I'm a little weak on x86 CPU terminology so...

HP sells servers with either Intel Itanium, Intel "Xeon" (including Nehalem) and AMD Opteron processors. Which depends on the product line. The HP Integrity server product line uses Intel Itanium processors. The HP ProLiant server product line uses Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron processors.

To see which specific HP server uses which processor you should look at the specs for same on www.hp.com.

In the past HP has also offered "HP 9000" and "HP3000" servers using PA-RISC processors, HP 3000 servers using "Classic 3000" processors and HP 1000 Servers using well, I don't know the name so I'll say HP 1000 processors :)
