acctmerg: Read error file 0

I'm running system accounting on a hp rp3440 running hpux 11i and I keep getting the following error message from cron:

acctmerg: Read error file 0
acctmerg: Read error file 0
acctmerg: Read error file 0


*************************************************
Cron: The previous message is the standard output
and standard error of one of your crontab commands:

/usr/sbin/acct/runacct 2>&1 >/dev/null

From checking the man pages on runacct and acctmerg I've checked all the files and it appears accounting is completing sucessfully. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
