confusing machinfo output on HP UX 11.23

Hi,

The output on HP UX 11.31 is straight forward but on 11.23 is its very confusing.

On one of HP UX 11.23 servers, "machinfo" displays below info. Could any guru confirm that

1. No. of CPU sockets = 4

2. No. of cores = 8

3. cache per CPU = 24MB

Pls confirm.

Re: confusing machinfo output on HP-UX 11.23

What's confusing?

You have 8 cores == CPUs.  Your L3 cache per core is ~ 12 MB.

The specs say  Intel(R) Itanium 2 9000 series is dual core, so you have 4 sockets.
