After giving the command "uname -r" the output is "B.11.11"
Does it mean that it hpux 11i ?
How do identify its other revision or sub revision ?
Can someone throw light on hpux versioning scheme ?
Thanks,
Shiv

Re: hpux versioning scheme
You can look at this document: http://docs.hp.com/en/T1417-90006/pr01s02.html
All HP-UX 11.xx releases are called 11i v#, with 11i v0 (or 11.00 or B.11.00) being also refered as 11i with no version specified (as it was the first one), then 11i v1 is 11.11 (B.11.11), 11i v2 is 11.23 (B.11.23).
Inbetween there has been minor releases 11i v1.5 and v1.5 (see doc above).

Re: hpux versioning scheme
HP-UX 11i is also called 11i version 1 to distinguish itself from 11i version 2 which is 11.23.
There is planned 11i version 3, which should be 11.3x, but I'm not sure if that will be 11.30 or 11.31.
'swlist' should show more information such as the release date. For example, the the 1204 release of HP-UX 11i (11.11) corresponds to the December 2004 update of the CORE OS. You can also get to that level by installing the patch bundle for 1204. Again the patch bundle will show up in the output from swlist.
