Entry logged on Sat Jun 23 08:53:35 2001
Device Path: 10/4/8.0.0
Product: SCSI Tape
Product Qualifier: HP7980S
Logger: tape14
Device Type: Tape
Device Qualifier: SCSI
I/O Log Event Information:

Subsystem field = "tape14"; Proc. Num. = 7; Error Num. = -44
Low Level I/O (LLIO) Status: 0xd4070414
Subsystem field = "tape14"; Proc. Num. = 7; Error Num. = -44
Error: This driver's device had hardware errors for which no other status
is available.
Hardware Status:
Raw H/W Status:
0x0000: 08 40 D8 02
SCSI Status...: CHECK CONDITION (0x02)
Indicates that a contingent allegiance condition has occurred. Any
error, exception, or abnormal condition that causes sense data to be
set will produce the CHECK CONDITION status.
WARNING:
The amount of SCSI sense data (18) implied by the total length of the
hardware data in the log record does not agree with the amount of sense
data (42) implied by the Additional Sense Data Length field (34).
SCSI Sense Data:
Undecoded Sense Data:
0x0000: 70 00 02 00 00 00 00 22 00 00 00 00 04 00 00 00

Additional Sense Code : 0x04
Additional Sense Qualifier : 0x00
Field Replaceable Unit : 0x00
Sense Key Specific Data Valid : FALSE
Sense Key Specific Data : 0x00 0xC1 0x00
Sense Key 0x02, NOT READY, indicates that the logical unit addressed
cannot be accessed. Operator intervention may be required to correct
this condition.
The combination of Additional Sense Code and Sense Qualifier (0x04
0x00) indicates: Logical unit not ready, cause not reportable.
Manager Specific Information: (no data available)

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance.....

Re: logs
Hi Pat
I've gone thru the URL given by you but not clearly understood the description. Can u please throw more light on that?
There was maintenance happened 2 days back with HP engineer for the same drive but he didn't explain anything. Is it severe error or I can neglect it?
Please advice.
Cheers :-)
