mail access
i had been running my mail server using linux redhat 5.2 with no problems.
recently i installed redhat 6.0. the mail server is functioning properly
enough.
the problem i have encountered is users can no longer access thier mail through
netscape. error received is server is not responding, also will not relay
outgoing messages via netscape. have not found any messages in the server logs
to indicate what the nature of the problem is.
any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
regards,
bill

Re: mail access
Netscape users access email using either POP or IMAP. Be sure that one (or
both) of these services are configured. Most likely, you were running a POP
server on RH 5.2.

Re: mail access
It is also possible that you were using Movemail. Movemail can be configured
for Netscape to use to copy the system mail spool file when there are no POP or
IMAP servers available. Instructions on using movemail are at
http://www.netscape.com/eng/mozilla/2.0/relnotes/demo/movemail.html
