have anybody ever tried migrating the whole OS from vPar on rp7420 to rp3440? Are there going to be any compatibility issues with drivers etc.? The OS is 11.11.
I know that I have 2 options: 1) Using make_sys_image to create golden image or 2) creating standard ignite-ux image via make_net[tape]_recovery .
I know that the first technique would give me cleaner OS without logs etc., but the 2nd one is much easier.
Which one would you recommend?
Thanks for your help.

SolutionI think the best option is a make_net_recovery for a server migration.
But if you are talking about the logs and you want a cleaner installation, i think what you want is a new installation and not a migration, because in a migration you will be interesting in having the logs and configuration files equal to the initial server.
What do you want?, a new server installation or a server migration ?

Re: migrating the whole system/vPar from rp7420 to rp3440
There would not be any drivers issue as such. But, update the FC & Ether drivers if the 7420 has latest cards.
Also, make_net_recovery will be the good one.
Thanks,
Vivek

Re: migrating the whole system/vPar from rp7420 to rp3440
thank you for your recommendations. I wanted to make a migration, i.e. having the "same" system (configuration) but on different HW.
